BPM on cloud does have its advantages but at high security institution like a financial institution, protecting customer data is of utmost priority. But in most banks the data governance policy their regulator is still not clear on how to utilize cloud services. And they are using these services for some non-customer related services like IT service desk, project management tools etc which can be termed as gross under utilization.
In 2017 alone, spending on IT infrastructure for off-premise cloud deployments will increase by double digits. However, the majority of end user spending—nearly 60%—will still be done on on-premise IT infrastructure, including on-premise private cloud and on-premise traditional . But still only one in 12 companies have all of their applications in the cloud, according to a recent survey from Tech Pro Research.

 We talked to some experts about this mass underutilization to which they said with most of the traditional on-premise IT infrastructure has been connected with the cloud. Hence, there has been huge underutilization of the infrastructure. But this also points to the huge potential in other cloud services like BPM on cloud ,and also the amount of capital that various companies can save on their capital outlays.
